A south Auckland driving clas is rotating its pedals with rejoice after being gifted two brand new vehicles .
Construction company Fulton Hogan gifted the Holden Barinas to charity Behind the Wheel, which works to reduce the high-pitched slam charge among young operators .
Fulton Hogan Auckland regional director Matthew MacMahon handed over the cars and their keys to the Mangere-based donation on June 12.
Spokeswoman Maree Mahony articulates the business originally acquired a Nissan ute worth $62,000 in a publicity run by Bunnings Warehouse .
The company swapped the ute for two Holden Barina cars to give to Behind the Wheel .
MacMahon suggests the small vehicles are a better fit for young people driving for the first time .
" They're[ Behind the Wheel] so grateful to receive the cars and were planning to use them for lessons from the next day onward ."
Pikura Purotu, one of the charity's directors, adds the donation have been instrumental in equipped its driving seminars .
" We've been approaching patronizes for a ill-used gondola for months without success .
" Not in my wildest dreams did I think we'd be brought to an end with two brand-new vehicles ."
Being a licensed driver can help people with employment and job security, she articulates .
" We look forward to the day when a person who's to gain access to driver's licence as a result of the Behind the Wheel programme becomes an employee of Fulton Hogan ."
Behind the Wheel is patronized and funded the NZ Transport Agency, ACC and Auckland Transport .
It helps young people gain the support and sciences they need in their driving license passage .
The organisation offers workshops and years for young people to coach them how to drive safely and leader them through the process of coming their licence .
Applicants can take tasks or shops at a subsidised cost with qualified coaches who help them at each licensing theatre .
